Sinigang na Baboy

Posted by aBIGwhale at 8:34 PM 1 comments
All time Filipino favorite.

Ingredients:
1 Kilo Baboy
4-5 Tomatoes
4-5 Onions
Patis (Fish Sauce)
Pepper
1 Knorr Sinigang Mix sa Gabi
Labanos (Radish)
Kangkong (water glorybind, water spinach, water convolvulus and swamp cabbage)
5-7 pieces siling pangsigang
1 Tali ng Okra (Lady’s Fingers or Gumbo)

Clean your Pork well.

Boil pork in 1-2 liters of water. (Note:Depende kung gano kadaming sabaw ang gusto mo, bawasan o dagdagan ang Sinigang Mix depende sa dami ng tubig.)

After boiling, when you see residue on the wok, remove it. (Dumi (blood clots stuff) po yun nung pork..)

Add onions and tomato, season with patis (fish sauce) and pepper.
Lower heat and wait until pork is tender.
** sabi nila mas mabilis lumambot ang karne pag sinamahan ng tinidor sa lutuan.. sinusunod ko naman ito hehe**

Add all the vegies, siling pang sigang and add the sinigang mix.
Stir and leave for about 15-20mins. As to not overcook your vegies..

Then you’re done

there's my fork! :) pampabilis lumabot haha you cut the onions and the tomatoes in half, and then half again :)
when you first boil the beef, you'll see the residue, that's what's left of mine, I removed most of it add the vegies, add sili last.. cook for 10-15more minutes..

sawsawan: patis with sili.. winner

Ingredients:
3-4 cloves garlic chopped
1 onion chopped
1/2 carrot sliced thinly
Baguio Beans
Cabbage
300 grams Chicken Fillet
300 grams Pork sliced thinly ( This one I did not add, Q, my nephew does not eat Pork..)
Bihon Noodles ( I used about 300grams)
Fish Sauce
Soy Sauce
Pepper
Oil
water (i used about 75ML)
2 Knorr chicken cubes

In a bowl of water, soak the bihon noodles for about 15mins then drain.
Heat oil in a pan. brown garlic, add onions. When onions are transparent, add chicken and add fish sauce and pepper. Cook until brown.
Add the vegies, carrots, baguio beans and cabbage. Cook, stirring. For about 10-15mins. Make sure you don’t over cook the vegies so they’re still crunchy.
Add the noodles (cut to desired length) and water. Add 2 Chicken cubes. Keep on stirring. Add Soy sauce until you get your desired taste.
Mix well.

Serve hot.
My digicam didn’t have battery and I was already cooking when I realized so I grabbed a couple of pictures online that looks like what I cooked. :)

Mommy says, it wasn’t salty. So its perfect for her..
N says it was yummy too!
Ate says, iba pa din yung sa Little Quiapo. (hehe syempre!)

N's Chili Wings

Posted by aBIGwhale at 12:20 AM 0 comments

N's recipe. We just had this for dinner yum yum!

1 Kilo Chicken Wings
Pepper
Chili Powder
Kikkoman (Teryaki Sauce)
Salt
Flour
Sweet Chili Sauce

1. Marinate the chicken in chili powder, kikkoman.  Leave for about 30 minutes. The longer you marinate the better (so that it will be more spicy and more sweet because of the teriyaki sauce.)
Marinate

2. Mix flour, pepper and salt.   Cover chicken in mixture and then deep fry until golden brown.

Cover in Flour

Deep Fry until Golden Brown

3. Drain oil then cover chicken in Sweet Chili Sauce and remove excess sauce (mabilis lumabot yung breading.. mas masarap pag malutong lutong)
Drain Oil

Cover in Sweet Chili Sauce
Remove excess Sauce
Serve hot.  Best with mayo-ketchup dip. (add a little chili powder in the dip so its better).
